Financial transparency & solidary support

How our Shimohatanokawa house is funded and how your donations help us equip the shelter

Transparency & Solidarity

For the Okami no Tani no Yado association, financial transparency is key to a sustainable solidary project. We want to detail exactly where our funds come from and how every donation directly contributes to the safety and comfort of the families hosted in our shelter.

House Purchase (Personal Funds)

The acquisition cost of the Shimohatanokawa house is **6.8 million JPY** (approx. 40,000 EUR), paid directly without real estate agency fees.

  • Deposit: 1 million JPY (successfully paid in June 2026 by Kurodo and Misako out of their personal savings).
  • Remaining Balance: 5.8 million JPY (to be paid in October 2026 upon final contract signature and key handover).

No external contributions or donations are used to purchase the property: this is entirely funded by the founders themselves.

Local Renovation Grants

Registering our association in Japan and installing our project in Kumakogen makes us eligible for local vacant house (*akiyas*) rehabilitation programs.

We are actively applying for municipal subsidies of up to **4.5 million JPY** (approx. 26,500 EUR) to fund ecological compliance works, insulation, and the installation of sustainable heating systems.

Why your donations are essential

While the purchase of the house is covered by the founders, **the interior setup, bedding, and operating costs of the shelter rely on collective solidarity**. In order for the left wing (the wing reserved for families) to be operational and warm by winter 2026, we are collecting donations to fund:

How to support us?

You can support our action in two ways:

  1. Direct Donation: By bank transfer or PayPal (transfer details are provided on request at kurodo@ontny.org for security reasons).
  2. Participate in our events: Funds raised during our future solidarity events or sales of handmade crafts directly fund tools and materials for the shelter.
